American Express
With a legacy that spans over 160 years, American Express is one of the world’s leading financial services companies. I had the opportunity to be the creative lead on a breadth of projects for them across print and digital.
Refer a Friend + Refer a Business
American Express had a referral program that was dormant for years, buried in the footer of their site. When they wanted to bring it back to life, I helped develop a unique messaging approach, personality, and guidelines for the program, while still laddering up to the Amex brand.
Once the Refer a Friend identity was established, I toggled between writing and acting as creative lead to develop a vast amount of digital assets and activation concepts.
The work was so successful that we implemented the same approach for Refer a Business.
Prospect Nurture
Our clients wanted to generate more leads for Corporate Cards. So we hosted them at our office and I led a workshop in order to spark ideas that informed a more effective corporate user journey and creative approach. We then created a series of paid social assets, emails, and an educational landing page to show corporate decision-makers the value of partnering with American Express.
Savings @ Work
Direct mail is a realm of advertising where it can be especially difficult to break through. The Savings @ Work program is a series of rebates that American Express offers to businesses, and they wanted to promote their FedEx shipping rebate with a direct mail piece that would break through the noise, grab attention, and bypass the recycling bin. I developed a concept that communicated the value of the rebate in a fun and relevant way: a bubble wrap calendar.
